The new update 15.5 is available for iPhone owners, should you install it?

IOS version 15.5.

Every iPhone user now has access to the new 15.5 update. There is virtually no new functionality, as noted, but numerous fixes stand out. But it’s worth sorting things out in more detail.

This update is, as the manufacturer says, functional. But in fact there are few new features and they are rather cosmetic. But the corrections of the system operation are present.

What is new?

  1. changes in the design of the buttons for requesting and sending money.
  2. Changed name of the physical card.
  3. New name of money transfer in messages.
  4. Change of name of cards when adding to Wallet.
  5. New notifications that the app can make payments for subscriptions or purchases from third-party apps.
  6. Removal of old podcasts and storage restrictions.
  7. Correction of automation problem with HomeKit.
  8. There is an option to lock the location of photos in memories.
  9. New Focus notifications.
  10. Full iPadOS 15.5 app.

Nothing much has really happened. Many of the fixes available are aimed at minor details, and it definitely wasn’t worth working on the update because of that. As for a major functional update, there is simply no information yet.

There is only the possibility that there could be another update with more serious innovations after the developer conference. This could affect, say, the Apple Music Classic app.

Upgrade the operating system to IOS 15.5.

So is it necessary to install the update?

Objectively speaking, there’s simply no reason to install it, in this case. Of course, if it were a full-fledged functional update, then of course it should have been done.  If you’re worried about blocking users from the RF, there are no prerequisites for that, all the more so because there are plenty of tools that can disable it without any problems.

Although the update is aimed at solving problems, there may still be bugs because of the update. But in practice, difficulties only occur in rare cases. Of course, it is up to the user to decide what to do.
